An apple a day will keep the doctor away is a fact not false myth. An apple provides lot of health benefits to our body. Apples are delicious, low in calories, a natural mouth freshener, and they are less expensive than any snack and easy to carry as a snack. There are different varieties of apple, red, green, golden and their taste also varies from sweet, tart, soft and smooth or crisp and crunchy depending on the variety what we choose.





Apples are rich in iron, fiber, flavonoids and fructose along with calcium and vitamins. Apples are a source of both soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber such as pectin actually helps to control cholesterol level in blood thus reduces the risk of atherosclerosis and heart disease. The insoluble fiber in apples helps in digestion.


Apples have antioxidant property which keeps our skin glowing and prevent us from different diseases. Apples are helpful to control weight as it contains fiber and when we are hungry and go for an apple in spite of oily, unhealthy snack will also help to control body weight. It is a good idea to eat apples with their skin. Almost half of the vitamin C content is just underneath the skin. By cutting skin we are cutting nutrients and vitamins of apple.



Apple can be taken as whole or added in diet in form of milk shake, or salad or even picky eaters can be managed by just adding pulp of apple while making roti or paratha.

Apple muffins or cake freshly made also will be a good alternative for healthy breakfast to the children.
