Discover the Amazing Fish Oil Health Benefits That Most People Don't Know About

zz

Millions of people are discovering the fish oil health benefits that have been proven by scientists and researchers from all over the world. Omega-3 fatty acids have been constantly studied for over 20 years.

Researchers first became interested in these essential fats when they discovered that Eskimos were eating a diet high in fat diet and were practically free of disease.

Since then, more and more fish oil health benefits have been discovered. Most people are unaware of the fact that the human brain alone is made up of about 60% of these essential fats.

Recent studies have shown that the majority of people today are deficient in omega-3 fatty acids. This can begin to explain why almost all people experience the fish oil health benefits very fast. A deficiency of these fats has been linked to depression, anxiety, worry, heart problems, memory problems, difficulty losing weight and even Alzheimer's.

The Fish Oil Health Benefits

I have personally been using omega-3 fatty acids for several years. During this time I have experienced positive results, such as improved memory, focused, quality of sleep, stomach function, skin, energy and mood.

Clinical studies have proven that omega-3 fatty acids can help in the following areas:

• Asthma
• Allergies
• Anxiety
• Cancer
• Gout
• Weight loss
• Learning
• Bipolar disorder
• Behavioral problems
• Aging

• Stomach
• Insomnia

This is just the people of the iceberg. I cannot list all the fish oil health benefits that modern science has discovered. I just want you to be aware of how helpful omega-3 fats have been proven to be.

They are among the best selling nutritional supplements for a good reason. With so many people being deficient in these fatty acids, now is the time for you to take control of your health and start improving your life.

Grass Fed Beef Delivers Omega 3 Oil

zz

Why grass raised beef?

You have probably heard that beef consumption is linked to heart disease. That can be true but it's not the whole story. The heart disease link is with Grain-fed animals - but animals fed only grass have some huge benefits for your health.

First of all, we must recognize that the body needs certain nutrients in order to "take care of business" on a daily basis. Taking care of business includes insuring proper cell growth, regulation and function. One essential element we must have (the body can't make it) is fatty acids. We need a regular supply of Essential Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. The ideal ratio is 2 Omega 3 to one Omega 6. Most people get a ratio of between 15:1 to 50:1. That is where the trouble starts and the link to disease comes in.

What's the benefit of grass-fed beef?

Omega 3's are found abundantly in seafood and some nuts and seeds like flax and walnuts, as well as grass fed beef, lamb, bison and wild meats. The Omega 3 in meat is much more available for our body than the omega 3 from plants so that make meat our main, and most dependable source. We get too much Omega 6 in our diets which is found in over-abundance in grains and vegetable oils (Olive oil or coconut oil are the best to use.)

Omega 3 is found in the chloroplasts of green leaves and algae. Cattle eat the Omega 3's in grass and put it in their fat. Cattle switched from omega 3 rich grass, and put on omega 6 rich grains, lose the omega 3 fat benefits in their own fat in a short time. The same thing happens in eggs from Chickens deprived of greens have a similar effect.

Grass-fed meat has 2 to 3 times the amount of Omega 3's than grain-fed animals.

So what happens when we get lots of omega 3's? Here are some important changes that happen in our body. Lower blood pressure, less heart beat irregularity and 50% less likely to suffer heart attack. In addition, you see lower bad "LDL" cholesterol levels. (1)

The brain needs plentiful amounts of omega 3's too, and getting it can result in less depression, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) or Alzheimer's disease. (2)

And we don't have to stop there. Omega 3's have been shown to slow cancer growth and keep cancers from spreading. As well as speed surgery recovery and protect the body from weight loss which goes along with advanced cancer. (3)

Grass-fed meats are lower in total fat and calories.

As if all that isn't enough. Grass fed meats can have 1/3 as much fat as grain fed meats. That is about the same as elk, wild deer, skinless chicken breast and other lean meats. If you eat a typical amount of beef (66 pounds a year) and switch to grass fed beef, you could save approximately 18,000 calories a year. Without any other changes you would lose about six pounds a year.

So, for your health, look into supplying grass-fed meat to your family. And, for the record, it tastes great too.

Can a Fish Oil Supplement Help Control Depression?

zz
Health experts around the world now recognize the promising benefits of using a fish oil supplement to help combat depression. By regularly taking a pure type of fish oil tablet, researchers suggest that you can help keep your heart healthy by reducing triglycerides levels in your body. Fish Oil is also known to play a big role in proper brain development and cognitive health. Aside from that, they can help relieve arthritis and other joint problems related to inflammations. Further, it is even making its rounds as a miracle pill, which can fight off cancer, diabetes, and other diseases. But now, by regularly taking fish oil, a person can gain benefits on not just their physical well-being, but also with their psychological and emotional state. Several clinical studies, some of which were conducted by Harvard Medical School's top health experts, have shown a relationship between Omega-3 fatty acids and depression.( Omega-3 fatty acids are found in high quantities in fish oils.

These essential fatty acids are very important to the body. They act like building blocks for the body. But since the body cannot produce these acids on its own, you should take some form of good quality fish oil product. By doing so, you can improve your mood and fend off depression. And you can be sure that the fish oil products really works! Here's how they help control depression. First of all, the human brain contains fats that are essential in cell membrane production.

These fats take care of the proper transmission of hormones and chemicals to the brain. It took years of research before it was found that the fats in the brain actually played an important role. This important role, in fact, has to do with a person's emotions. To regulate a person's moods, healthy fats, such as Omega-3 fatty acids, should be supplied in recommended quantities. Omega-3 fatty acids, which are abundant in fish oil, can help balance a person's moods. These essential fatty acids can increase serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is a hormone found in the central nervous system. You see, serotonin is quite important. It is what triggers various emotions in humans. It is responsible for our feelings of anger, sadness, happiness, and a lot more. Low levels of Omega-3 fatty acids, such as DHA, increase the chances of depression and its symptoms, such as sadness, anxiety, self-pity, and insomnia. DHA is a type of Omega-3 fatty acid that is directly responsible for the management of depression. Taking an effective fish oil supplement with high levels of DHA will help combat depression effectively.

In fact, a fish oil regimen was proven to work better than antidepressant medications. This was proven when groups of people suffering from depression were tested using antidepressants and fish oil. The tests showed that those who took fish oil experienced a remarkable improvement in mood than those who took antidepressants. Health experts also found that the purer the DHA content of fish oil is, the better it can fight depression. It is far more beneficial to look for pure, pharmaceutical grade fish oil supplements, which have generous and highly concentrated levels of DHA. Pharmaceutical grade fish oil products undergo a thorough purification process called molecular distillation. This makes the levels of Omega-3 fatty acids in fish oils even more pronounced by ensuring the purity of the oils. That's why I don't just recommend taking any fish oil supplement - instead find a pure, pharmaceutical grade fish oil supplement and thoroughly research your options.

What is Krill Oil?

zz
As we get older our bodies change and so does our lifestyle. We are unable to do the things we used to do and our bodies do no react the same way. This is part of the reason why the supplement market is a billion dollar industry. There are countless supplements available to help us with the many health conditions can arise; one such product is krill oil. This article will examine the uses of the product and other information.

Krill oil is created from the crustacean called krill. Krill are known to contain large amounts of omega-3 fatty acids. The fatty acids found in the oil are also present in fish oil. The oil also contains a very strong antioxidant called astaxanthin, along with the popular Vitamin E and Vitamin A. The antioxidant contained in the oil is also a very potent which allows for it to be very stable.

Krill are small shrimp crustaceans that can be found throughout the oceans of the world. The most popular that are used in the making of oil is usually found in the Arctic Ocean. These crustaceans are the major food source for animals such as fish, seals, whales and penguins. Whales often consume large amounts of krill daily and because they are so abundant, then it is always a renewable source.

Krill oil extracted from these crustaceans contains important omega-3 fatty acids such as EPA and DHA. These fatty acids are typically found in fish oils. Krill oil also contains a potent antioxidant called, as well as small amounts of vitamin A and vitamin E. The Antarctic region is relatively free from heavy metals and other contaminants such as PCBs.

It should be noted that if you have known allergic reactions to shellfish then you should not take this oil. The same goes if you have a known blood coagulation disorder, or are taking anticoagulants. Krill oil is safe to be taken as no adverse side effects are associated with its use. The oil is stable and will last up to 2 years. You should also ensure that it is not stored in the refrigerator or freezer. The reason for this is that at temperatures greater than 100 degrees or ones that are lower than 50, it usually lowers the effectiveness of the phospholipids that are contained in the oil.

What You Need To Know About Krill Oil

zz

Krill are little shrimp or prawn-like beings that feed the world's largest animals- the great whales. These toothless great whales guzzle down huge amount of krill to give the energy they need to fuel their enormous bulk- A blue whale eats up to 8,000 pounds of krill each day during the feeding season. These highly intelligent great whales are not the only animals that depend on krill for their nutritional needs, so do a variety of seals, penguins, sea birds, squid and fish.

A krill oil supplement may be used in place of a fish oil supplement, or together with a fish oil supplement. A good alternative is to use a capsule or two of each. In fact, the strong Neptune kind of krill harvested from unkind Antarctic waters, krill that make up Antarctic Pure Krill Oil, are so important that they are considered by scientists to be a keystone species, a life form upon which many Antarctic predators depend. These semi-translucent crustaceans gather together in thick masses or hordes that can in fact turn the ocean's surface pink or red.

Collectively with plankton, krill make up the biggest biomass in the world. This makes them one of the most effortlessly renewable food resources obtainable and a brilliant dietary source from an ecological point of view. An extremely high quality krill oil product is derived from Antarctic krill grown in the wild ocean around Antarctica. This krill oil is processed without application of any solvents.

Krill oil is a unique all-natural source of more than a few supplements in one. Firstly, we have the crucial omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA which are lacking in the diet of many people, particularly those who do not consume enough cold water fish. In addition to omega-3 fatty acids, krill oil contains the important antioxidant "Astaxanthin" which gives the pinkish or reddish color to the krill oil soft gels. Lastly, krill oil contains vitamins A and E. Krill Oil assists in improving your quality of life as you age.

A recent study showed that Pure Krill Oil supports strong joint function and comfort. Many research findings have also confirmed the role of Pure Krill Oil's antioxidants and omega-3 oils in combating the signs of aging. This oil contains a natural blend of phospholipids, antioxidants and omega-3 bonded together in a way that keeps them secure from oxidation and easily absorbed in the body.

Breast Cancer And How To Help Avoid It Through Diet

zz
It is often said that the most important ingredient in the Mediterranean diet is extra virgin olive oil. However, some would argue that. Most of the notoriety of the Mediterranean diet is due to research unlike other high profile diets which have normally received their promotional thrust through commercial vehicles. The facts remain that hardly anyone would take any notice of the Mediterranean diet except for the highly satisfactory findings that have resulted from universities and food research foundations across the globe.

The reason I mentioned extra virgin olive oil first up is because it's always present in any of the many countries who are labeled with using the diet. You would think that this would make the diet high in fat. The calorie intake from the Mediterranean diet that comes from fat is over 30%. However, all the fat is 100% unsaturated fat and is a product of olive oil. This means (in general) that the fat that comes from extra virgin olive oil is a healthy type of fat.

From another angle, it means that the fat from olives does not trigger unhealthy consequences which are said to come from animal fat. This is also supported by several scientific studies in the USA and Europe in the last decade which indicate that extra virgin olive oil and a diet high in fruits and vegetables can work to lower the incidence of breast cancer in women.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil differs to day-to-day olive oil in that extra virgin olive oil comes from the first crush. Thereby retaining many of the nutrients. If you decide to work with the Mediterranean diet, you would be wise to shop only for extra virgin olive oil and make that a discipline.

I hope this tidbit of knowledge helps.

Olive oil benefit and varieties

zz
Olive oil is a regular ingredient in Italian cooking. Here are some benefits of olive oil:

1. Olive oil helps control LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol), which is the one that leads to heart disease, at the same time it raises the good cholesterol or HDL levels.

2. Olive oil helps protect and is very well tolerated by the stomach. It has beneficial effects on ulcers and gastritis as well as helps lower the incidence of gallstones.

3. Extra virgin olive oil, in particular, contains very high levels of antioxidants, particularly vitamin E and phenols.

4. Olive oil is an excellent alternative for your skin.
Variety of olive oil:

There are different varieties of olive oil, which have been separated by the quantity of processing they go to.

Extra virgin olive oil is the unrefined oil that arrives from the earliest pressing of the olive, extracted without using heat or any chemicals. It is considered as the best with least processed and contains the most nutrients. It also has the most delicate flavor.

Virgin olive oil appears from the second pressing of the olives, even though it can also come from the earliest pressing too. The main difference is that virgin olive oil has a higher acidity level than extra virgin and a dissimilar flavor.

Pure olive oil or just called "olive oil" goes through some processing, which might take in filtering and refining. This refined oil can also be combined with a little extra virgin olive oil to add flavor.

Light or Extra light olive oil undergoes significant processing and at the end only retains a very mild olive flavor. Sometimes it is even blended with other vegetable oils.

Evening Primrose

zz

Evening Primrose possesses a high content of the rare gamma linolenic acid (GLA) that appears to produce a host of beneficial effects. GLA is an unsaturated fatty acid that assists in the production of prostaglandins, the hormones necessary for many important bodily functions. GLA helps the body produce energy and forms part of the structural fats that comprise the brain, muscle, bone marrow and cell membranes.

For the promotion of cardiovascular health, the prostaglandins formed by GLA in Evening Primrose are said to have anticoagulating properties that dilate the blood vessels and reduce the blocking of blood vessels by a blood clot, thereby helping to prevent heart attacks and strokes. In addition, GLA is said to lower levels of cholesterol and blood pressure, further reducing the possibility of heart disease and stroke. The increased blood circulation properties in Evening Primrose are also thought to be beneficial in cases Raynaud's syndrome.

GLA plays a crucial role in the health of the brain and nervous system, and Evening Primrose has

been recommended as a supportive treatment for multiple sclerosis and other degenerative

diseases. Gamma linolenic acid deficiency is said to be associated with many health problems.

Those with premenstrual syndrome and cyclical breast pain associated with the menstrual cycle, , diabetes, scleroderma, Sjogren’s syndrome, eczema and other skin conditions may have a metabolic block that interferes with the body’s ability to make GLA. In preliminary research, supplementation with Evening Primrose has helped people with these conditions.

Certain disorders or diseases may block the body's ability to make gamma linolenic acid (GLA), and

Evening Primrose oil can supplement that deficiency, which in turn should help to ease the conditions that block the conversions in the first place. Some of these ailments include blood sugar problems, chronic inflammatory disorders, nutrient deficiencies and the metabolizing of hydrogenated oils and fats, as well as many other problems that may be helped by better balance of fatty acids in the body; therefore, people with deficiencies would presumably benefit from supplemental GLA intake from Evening Primrose.

Evening Primrose has been used as a traditional supplement for its stimulating effects on the liver, spleen and digestive apparatus and is said to help gastric irritation, irritable bladder, chronic diarrhea and fatty acid problems.

In modern herbal medicine the mucilage in Evening Primrose is used in cough remedies to help inhibit coughing, whooping cough and to help relieve cold symptoms.

Evening Primrose is considered an antispasmodic that helps to alleviate spasmodic asthma and menstrual cramps. In treating female problems, Evening Primrose acts as a natural estrogen promoter and therefore can help to relieve heavy bleeding, headache, breast tenderness and bloating. This is also said to have favorable effects when used for menopausal discomforts, such as hot flashes.

In some studies, Evening Primrose was thought to help treat schizophrenia, depression and premenstrual syndrome, especially when related to mood swings. Research continues into treatments for anorexia nervosa, hyperactivity, alcoholism and chronic anxiety. There is evidence that alcoholics may be deficient in GLA, and a double-blind study suggested that alcohol withdrawal may be facilitated with Evening Primrose supplementation.

Flax Seed Oil

zz

Flax Seed Oil is a blue flowering plant that is grown on the Western Canadian Prairies for its oil rich seeds. This natural oil (also known as Linseed Oil) is highly recommended for the general well being and whole body nutrition and is considered to be nature's richest source of omega-3 fatty acids that are required for the health of almost all body systems.

Flax Seed Oil contains omega-6 and omega-9 essential fatty acids, B vitamins, potassium, lecithin, magnesium, fiber, protein, and zinc and also provides approximately 50% more omega-3 oils than what you could get from taking fish oil, minus that horrible "fishy" after taste. Sounded good already!

It's important to buy high-quality flax seed oil as it is prone to rancidity. Light and oxygen will slowly breakdown the essential fatty acids. Look for flax seed oil capsules (dark coated soft gels) or oil that is bottled in amber-brown bottles, as these are more resistant to the light and oxygen. Make sure you refrigerate your flax seed oil to help extend its shelf life.

Flax seed oil takes a bit of time to be absorbed into the body before the full beneficial effects begin, ranging anywhere from a few days to as many as six weeks, depending on your overall well-being.

Add Flax Seed to your diet and watch what it will do for you! If you're unsure about trying Flax Seed, contact your physician and ask for more information.
